FREE REFLECTION GUIDE FOR THERAPISTS

Are Your Clients Doing the Work and Still Feeling Stuck?

They have insight. They show up. They try the strategies. They understand the pattern.

And yet, the shame, striving, anxiety, or sense of never being enough keeps returning.

Faith wounds may be one part of the story that has not yet made it into the therapy room.

Download this free reflection guide for practical ways to recognize when faith-shaped pain may be contributing to client stuckness and how to open that conversation with care, consent, and clinical confidence.

When You Know Something Is There, But You’re Not Sure How to Name It

Faith can be a source of comfort, belonging, pressure, shame, pain, or all of those at once.

The challenge is knowing when it may be clinically relevant and how to bring it into the room without making assumptions or steering the client.

This guide will help you:

  • Recognize cues that faith-shaped pain may be part of the pattern

  • Open the conversation with language that protects client choice and consent

  • Know what to listen for next when the client says yes

You will also get the NAME Clinical Doorway, a simple framework you can return to when you are unsure where to begin.

About Eleanor

I’m Eleanor L. Brown, MA, LPC, CCTP, a licensed professional counselor, author, and speaker whose work focuses on developmental trauma, chronic shame, and the places where faith and emotional wounds meet.

This work grew from living on both sides of a painful divide. In some faith settings, there was not enough room for my pain. In some therapy settings, there was not enough room for my faith.

When I became a counselor, I wanted to make room for both.

I created this guide to help therapists recognize when faith may be part of the clinical story and to open that conversation without steering, dismissing, or pathologizing the client’s beliefs.

It is not about your beliefs. It is about making room for your client’s story.

Recognize Faith Wounds. Open the Conversation. Support Healing.
